DAVID (Sings All Four) DOHENY, SR
The Board of Directors of the Pensacola Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society has unanimously voted to name David Doheny, Senior as an inductee to the Pensacola Bay Harmonizers Hall of Fame. Dave has been a Barbershopper for 35 years and has served in leadership positions within the chapter, including Chapter President, and at the Sunshine District level where he served as Membership Vice President. He is unique in that his voice range allows him to sing all four Barbershop parts making him the “go-to” guy when there is a need to fill a missing part whether in a quartet or in a chorus. Dave, without formal training but agreeing to attend the Barbershop Harmony Society’s Director’s College, was named Music Director in March 2010. He served in that capacity for eight years. He again served as Music Director following a tumultuous time in the life of the chorus. Dave was named Director Emeritus in 2019. Dave is a 22-year U. S. Navy veteran, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. He then spent 18 years as a naval civilian Technical Librarian for the Naval Electronic Warfare School at Corry Field. It is with appreciation and pride that on this 25th day of January, 2022, the Board of Directors names David Doheny, Senior a member of the Pensacola Bay Harmonizers Hall of Fame.
